The application of citric acid solutions for selective removal of zinc from steelmaking dust

Steelmaking dust is one of the wastes which are produced by ironworks. This kind waste a byproduct mainly in electric arc furnace. Zinc content different and depends on charge processed The basic technology used for recycling steelmaking Waelz process, however, it requires large amount reducer generates lot needs to be stored. First stage this study was analyze if safe exposed atmospheric conditions. To verify this, subjected two kinds standard leaching tests, TCLP EN-12457-2. extracted elements considerable that why should treated as dangerous waste. Leaching citric acid solutions divided four series. first set determine time temperature most selective zinc leaching. Next series optimized three parameters were: concentration, liquid solid phase ratio (l/s), stirring speed. Performed experiments showed optimal conditions leaching: 50?C, 60 minutes, concentration 0.5 mol/dm3, l/s 10, speed 250 rpm.
